When you are looking for a vehicle that is both practical and fun then you want a Toyota Caldina Wagon GT-T.  Not only does this vehicle provide you with all of the functionality of the regular Caldina Wagon, it gives you the power that comes with a turbo engine.  To look at the Caldina Wagon GT-T you would think that it was a dead ringer for the Corona Wagon.  In actuality it is a few generations removed from the Corona Wagon, especially the one that was originally sold in the United States.  In 2002 the Caldina Wagon went from looking conservative to being flashy and stylish and this change in appearance helped make it aero dynamic and a far cry from the other mid-sized wagons produced by Toyota over the years.

In the United States the Caldina Wagon GT-T is offered in a 2.0 liter engine, turbo charged and kicking out 112 kW of power.  However, Toyotas used to hold their value much more than they do today simply because they have saturated the market worldwide.  You are looking at paying anywhere from $34,000 at used car dealers for an older model, but when you compare this price to the cost of a new one, it is a considerable savings.  If you want to get a Caldina Wagon for even less than this, you can export one from Japan through an export dealer and the vehicle you get could come with some of the original warranty still intact.

While it is considered a performance wagon, the Caldina Wagon GT-T is only offered in a four speed automatic.  This is one of the few downsides to the vehicle, but most people who own them do not seem to mind too much.  Part of the reason behind this is because the wagon was originally designed for the Japanese market.  Going from zero to sixty in 8.6 seconds, however, makes up for the lack of an extra speed on the transmission.  It is not an overly sporty vehicle, but it runs smoothly and is a great family vehicle.

The Caldina Wagon GT-T definitely comes packed with plenty of amenities that drivers today want.  With automatic climate control, dual airbags, ABS brakes, remote central locking, traction control and vehicle stability system, it is perfect for those long road trips and family events.  Remember, however, that this version of the Caldina Wagon is turbo charged, so it will not be quite as fuel efficient as you may hope for.
